When directors take authors novels and turn them into films there is usually a wide spread disapproval from the fans of the book. The directors leave out parts of the book that are either vital to the main plot of parts that readers relate to. although there is a lot of disapproval some movies actually came out better than the book. One movie in particular is the movie and book Forest Gump. The movie was better than the book because it left out some parts that were completely ludicrous. In the book Forest becomes an astronaut and meets and ape named Sue and they crash land in the jungle where they are almost eaten by cannibals and then they escape and grow shrimp in shallow pools together. The movie has a different adaption it makes the story more realistic even though most of the scenes in the movie Forest had a huge role on history in the United States.
